Fun rolags to spin! Northwest American Wool and Sari Silk.

The color is "Carnival" with blended tones of Green, Dark Blue/Purple, Rosy Purple and Sunset Orange. The Sari silk is sandwiched in between the wool and includes shades of Greens and Cream with hints of all the other colors too.

You will receive one set of Rolags that are approximately 2 ounces of wool. This batch will not be repeated.

These started out as a raw fleece purchased from Dark Side Shearing. This ewe sheep is a cross of Coopworth, Romney, Dorset and BFL. The fleece was washed and divided for dyeing. This fleece took the dye brilliantly and made fun colors. After that it was all processed on the drum carder and then blended on a blending board with sari silk between the layers. Lots of work on my end but I think it made a spectacular color palette to work with for you.

This is a medium grade wool and would be perfect for hats or socks. Probably not soft enough for a scarf or next to the skin wear.

If I was spinning these I would ply from both ends of a ball to get a really fun 2-ply with overlapping colors. If you prefer spin your singles and then ply using the Navajo 3-ply technique for a self striping yarn. Either way you can't lose.

If you are a felter this wool does not wet felt well, but it is great needle felted.

I try to get the colors on the screen to look like the actual fiber but as monitors will vary the colors might not be exactly as pictured. If you are unhappy with your order for any reason I do offer returns as long as they are in the same condition as they were when I shipped them. I do not refund your return shipping.

As with any dyed product there could be some loose dye when you first wash your yarn. I suggest you hand wash your project in cool/cold water with a bit of soap the first time.
