Natural Unbleached Tussah Silk. This is the natural color of Tussah silk. It is undyed, unbleached natural golden colored silk. Wonderful for spinning by itself and blending with other fibers.
Tussah silk is a variety of wild silk primarily from India, also known as Tussar Silk in south Asia. Tussah silk is valued for its rich texture and natural deep gold color, and varieties are produced in many Asian countries. These silkworms live in the wild forests in trees eating the leaves of the trees they live on. Because of the native leaves the silk that is naturally produced picks up the tannin from the leaves and produces this lovely rich color.
