Bleached Tussah Silk.

This lovely Tussah silk has been bleached to make the naturally golden color a soft creamy tone.  Tussah silk is a slightly shorter fiber then Mulberry silk and blends into wools beautifully.  Wonderful for spinning by itself and blending with many other fibers.

Tussah silk is a variety of wild silk primarily from India, also known as Tussar Silk in south Asia. Tussah silk is valued for its rich texture and natural deep gold color, and varieties are produced in many Asian countries. These silkworms live in the wild forests in trees eating the leaves of the trees they live on. Because of the native leaves the silk that is naturally produced picks up the tannin from the leaves and produces a lovely rich color.  To make the fiber more dyeable and closer in color to Mulberry Silk the fiber is bleached into a lighter tone.

Sold in increments of 1 oz.

I try to get the colors on the screen to look like the actual fiber but as monitors will vary the colors might not be exactly as pictured. If you are unhappy with your purchase for any reason I do offer returns as long as they are in the same condition as they were when I shipped them. I do not refund your return shipping.

Please hand wash in cool/cold water with a bit of soap or fiberwash.
