Mulberry Silk, also known as Bombyx Silk. When in a Hankie form it is also known as Mawata Silk.

Raised in captivity, the silk worms are only fed mulberry leaves which gives the supper shinny, top quality white silk. To make a Hankie the cocoons are degummed and then stretched by hand over a square frame measuring about 10x10 inches. This is done in many layers until they have a stack that is around 8-10+ ounces and to about 4 inches tall. These are then tied into a bundle and shipped to shops like mine.
